My name is Sabrina Mauas and I am the founder of No Ordinary People, a media producing agency based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Our aim is to give brands a unique voice through Podcasts. I am also the creator and voice behind the homonymous Podcast where I interview extraordinary women from completely different fields. Women who have been empowered by their life experiences and that despite some really difficult moments have managed to come out with great lemonade.
I have a degree in International Relations from UTDT (Torcuato Di Tella University), and I started my career in communication when I started working at Ámbito Financiero newspaper. After four years of intense adrenaline, I took over as Press Manager at the Embassy of Israel in Argentina. Those were four years of growth until I decided to launch myself into a new world, an unknown but much desired dimension. I´ve moved to Italy to do a Master in Fashion and Communication at the IED in Milan.
From there it seemed natural to receive an invitation to write as a correspondent for Women’s Wear Daily and from New York to work in a communications agency.
Back in Argentina after a brief stint in consulting, I received an invitation to create the CRM (Customer Relationship Management) area for the clothing brand Jazmín Chebar. It was a lovely and very enriching experience that brought me to want to unite the power of knowing your audience and the ability to communicate things that foster a unique bond.
That is how the media producing agency was born and its first published project; No Ordinary People (NOP for friends). As a result of this project, Spotify invited me to participate in the WERK IT Festival, in October 2019, in Los Angeles. Those were intense days that encouraged me to continue creating content to share!
Among them, two podcasts for Spotify in partnership with the production company Sense Of Wonder from Argentina and Eclectic from Los Angeles. Manual para Niños Inquietos (Manual for Restless Kids) and Mi loco Profesor de Ingles (My Crazy English Teacher) are podcasts designed for children between the ages of 6 and 10. Both projects were also produced in Portuguese.
The last few years have been of enormous professional growth having been called by companies such as Red Link, Merk Sharp & Dohme, YPF, Prüne and Maria Cher for the production of their podcasts – branded and for internal use.
I was also honored to be invited by the Ministry of Culture of the Government of the City of Buenos Aires to organize the first Argentine Podcast Festival, BA Podcast, which took place in September 2021 and brought together more than 100 regional and international podcasters.
